I, Dr Gerald Richard Murray Graduated from University College, Galway, Republic of Ireland, in 1979. I have been a General Practitioner in Ulverston since 1985. My role as GP Tutor has been one of the most exciting developments in my career as a general practitioner which has led me to do a considerable amount of training in the field of postgraduate education to encouraging people to the use of Personal Learning Plans as a means of continuous professional development as well as liaising with other bodies – Health Authority, Primary Care Groups and Trusts, pharmaceutical industry and many, many others.  This has, of course, led to many interesting and exciting opportunities and challenges on a professional level. I am also an Examiner for Membership the Royal College of GP’s since 2004.
